  1. Cookies definition 

A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when accessing certain web pages. Cookies allows a web page, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or browsing habits of his or her hardware and, depending on the information it contains and the way the equipment is used, it can be used to recognize the user.

According to the entity that manages the cookies:

 

  • Own cookies: those sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided. 
  • Third-party cookies: those sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies. 

According to the period that cookies remain activated: 

  • Session cookies: they are a type of cookies designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are usually used to store information that must be maintained for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion. 
  • Persistent cookies: they are a type of cookies in which the data is still stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by for the cookie responsible. The period’s range can be from a few minutes to several years. 

According to its purpose: 

  • Technical cookies: those that allows the user to navigate through a website, platform or application and the utilization of different options or services existing in it. 
  • Personalization cookies: those that allows the user to access the service with some predefined general characteristics based on a series of criteria in the user’s terminal (language, type of browser through which the service is accessed, regional settings, etc.). 
  • Analysis cookies: those that allows the person responsible for it to follow up and analyze the behavior of the users of the websites to which they are related (activity measurement, preparation of user navigation profiles, etc., in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of the usage data made by the users of the service). 
  • Advertising cookies: those that allows the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces that the editor has included in the website, application or platform from which it provides the requested service based on criteria such as edited content or how often ads are shown. 
  • Behavioral advertising cookies: advertising cookies that stores information about the behavior of users obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, in order to develop a specific profile to show him or show her advertising based on it. 
  1. Types of cookies used on this website

  • _utmb: Google Analytics cookie that records the time of arrival on the website. It expires 30 minutes after the last update. 
  • _utmc: Google Analytics cookie used for interoperability with the urchin.js tracking code. It is deleted once the browser is closed. 
  • _utmt: Google Analytics cookie used to process the type of request maded by the user. It expires at the end of the session. 
  • _utmv: Google Analytics cookie. This cookie is used to segment demographic data. It expires at the end of the session. 
  • _utmz: Google Analytics cookie that stores the traffic source or a campaign to explain how the user arrived at the website. It expires 6 months after the last update. 
  1. How to disable cookies in the main browsers:
